James David Vance was born on August 2, 1984. After Highschool he joined the United States Marine Corp where he served as a combat correspondent in the Iraq War. He graduated from Ohio State University in 2009 as summa cum laude in political science and philosophy. After Ohio State he Graduated from Yale Law School, where he was an editor for the Yale Law Journal. Vance spent some some time in San Francisco as a venture capitalist. Trump was a vocal critic of Trump during his 2016 campaign and wrote a critical piece on him in The Atlantic, but later became a supporter of Trump. In 2017 he became a CNN contributor and also had his bestselling 2016 memoir Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis turned into a 2020 Netflix Film Hillbilly Elegy. Vance was Elected to the US Senate in 2022. He defeated the democrat nominee Tim Ryan after being endorsed by Trump.
